FAIZABAD: Demanding a
CBI enquiry into the death of slain CMO Dr BP Singh, his brother on Sunday accused the state government of misleading the case and said that the murder mystery of his brother will be solved only after CBI interferes.
Indra Pratap Singh, the brother of Dr BP Singh and an advocate in Lucknow High Court, said, "In the name of investigating the murder case of his brother, the government agencies are daily coming up with new acts to divert the attention of people from the main cause of murder."
"After so many arrests, which also include deputy CMO and other health department functionaries, why till now Dr AK Shukla, the former CMO is not arrested," Singh said and alleged, "Shukla is a near relative of former health minister Anant Mishra, hence no action has been taken against him."
"In a letter written to chief secretary on April 4, I have demanded a CBI enquiry, as I have made it clear that government officials are spreading rumours that BP Singh family does not want CBI enquiry.
But, our family are in strong favour of CBI inquiry. We demand that the government immediately recommends the case to the CBI," he said.
Till now no medicine distributors nor contractors have been searched in this case. The CMO's brother was also stated that they were hopeful after two ministers resigned in this case, but even that proved to be gimmick.
He alleged that there was large scale forgery in payments, as government funds were misused in large scale. "Dr Singh was an honest man. Without proper investigation, he never passed any bill or released any grant. So, his honesty proved costly and fatal for him," said advocate Singh
"I want justice for my brother and don't care, even if I lose my life. We will not leave this case, as was the case of Dr Arya, which was diverted and closed," added the advocate.
